This site brings up a form that you can fill out and send an email to Ken Salazar who is the United States Secretary of the Interior in the administration of President Barack Obama. A member of the Democratic Party"

It is better if you also call him and leave a message:

I request that you deny BP's application to drill for the Liberty drilling project. The Arctic waters off Alaska should be off limits to drilling as part of a first step toward a ban on all new offshore drilling on U.S. coasts. As the head of the Interior Department, you have the responsibility and the authority to protect America's coasts from the BP's next big oil spill. Please do the right thing and stop this dangerous project before it is too late.

 1) Call (202) 208-7351. If it's between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm ET you should be able to talk to a person. If you aren't calling between those hours and don't speak to a person, skip step #2 and simply leave the message below.

2) The phone will be answered by a staff person in Secretary Salazar's office. Tell them your name, city and state you are calling from, and then tell the staffer you are calling to leave a message with Secretary Salazar about BP's Liberty Island drilling project in the Arctic. You will then be asked if you would like to use the Interior Department's comment line, politely say no, and say that you would prefer leaving your comment with the staffperson you are speaking with so that he/she can give that message to the Secretary directly.

3) Leave your message. Here's a sample:

"Hi, my name is _________________, I live in [city, state], and I want Secretary Salazar to deny BP's permits to drill for oil at its Liberty project off the north coast of Alaska. Secretary Salazar should not allow BP or any other company to do offshore drilling in Alaska."

4) Last, let us know that you made the call by clicking the button below.
