Erica Fernandez

Erica Fernandez is a young activist in California that started a grassroots movement that was effective in blocking the creation of a LNG pipeline that had serious health risks for the local community and was only going to be good for the shareholders of a Multinational Corporation.

Please watch her acceptance speech for the 2007 Brower Youth Award.  She was 16 at the time and she started organizing when she was only 13.

It is inspiring that change can be made if just a few people educate themselves and act with personal conviction.
There are several other videos on this webpage that should be watched as well.  Please take a few minutes and learn/feel and then act.  Harriet Rohmer wrote a book called "Heros of the Environment"  ISBN 978-0-8118-6779-5
This book documents 12 examples of young people who have made significant contributions to protecting the Environment.
