November 21st 2011 DRBC!

The DRBC has Postponed the October 21st, 2011 meeting to November 21st 2011....

It would help if 5000 people or more were able to defend the Delaware River in Trenton on this important day..
If the commission votes to allow the Delaware Watershed to be industrially assaulted, it will be a crime against everything good in this world...

You should not allow this to happen.

Take off a day from work and do this.

It may be the most important statement that you ever make....and it may actually make a difference..

There is some inertia at this time... and every single voice (and physical body) will add power to the political statement.

The Delaware River was not classified Temporarily as a Wild and Scenic River..
If the commission issues permits to drill, they should be immediately sued and replaced with people that actually care about protecting the river from this type of Reckless, Irresponsible and Self Serving behavior. has sent money to the Delaware Riverkeeper because they are organized and they have the facts...  Please consider doing the same..

The only way that this River can be protected is if A LOT of people care enough to make it happen..
A lot of the work has been done by the previous generation...The River is already LEGALLY protected.  This Generation just needs to Defend what has already been fought over and won..

Criminals are good at finding loopholes and some Politicians are Unethical...That may never change, but the people CANNOT allow them to issue permits to legally Frack in the Delaware River Watershed and one way to stop them is show up in a coat and gloves on November 21....
It would not be surprising if they moved the meeting just so it will be colder and so less people show up..
Having a big turnout in cold weather is an even stronger statement.

This is too important of an issue to let cold weather (or any other reason) block your attendance..

Show up if you can.
Send Money if you can.
Tell other people what is at risk and how to learn more, and ask them to get involved.
Put a Bumper sticker on your car or post where others can see it..

Just DO SOMETHING and you will know that you have done the right thing....

There is a sociological concept called "The 100th Monkey"..It's all about numbers.....
People influencing other people and then eventually the tide turns....

This is what needs to happen.

Every person is important.

Every action will have direct and indirect consequences..

SAVE THE DELAWARE. A new video from Josh Fox and Matt Sanchez. The Delaware River Basin is in severe danger. The Delaware River Basin Commission will vote on October 21st on regulations that would allow for 20,000 gas wells in the river basin. Now is the time to act. Please post (and repost and repost)

This is an urgent call to the fans of GASLAND and to the fracking movement across the nation, please act now to Save the Delaware River. On November 21st, the Delaware River Basin commission will vote on a plan to allow 20,000 gas wells in the Delaware River basin. We need calls to come from all over the nation and we need people from all over the region to come out in protest on November 21st.

The Delaware River Basin commission is comprised of five voting members, Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York, Governor Christie of New Jersey, Governor Corbett of Pennsylvania, Governor Markell from Delaware and the Obama Administration represented by the Army Corps of Engineers. For the Delaware River to be opened up to drilling three out of five have to vote yes on the draft regulations plan. We need them all to reject the proposal and reject gas drilling and fracking.

There has never been a more urgent moment in the North east in the battle against fracking. The Delaware is the primary drinking water source for 15.6 million people and it is a national treasure.

Four actions you can take:

1) Call the the Governors from the member states and President Obama TODAY and tell them, "Hello, I am calling you to express my serious concerns about hydrofracking. Please Don’t Drill the Delaware!"

Governor Christie’s office - 609-292-6000
Governor Cuomo’s office - 518-474-8390
Gov Corbett’s office – 717-787-2500
Gov Markell’s Wilmington Office - 302-577-3210
And the white house comment line is 202-456-1111
